Streaks, Story Continuation, and Learning Progress

product

Discover the latest Volitude updates, including streaks, story continuations, and vocabulary progress tracking.

What's New in Volitude

Over the past few months, Volitude has evolved from a simple AI story generator into a more complete language learning app focused on helping you build a consistent reading habit and expand your vocabulary through stories.

If you've been using Volitude since the early days, you'll notice some major changes. And if you're new here, this post is a great overview of how the app works today.

Continue stories you enjoy

One of the most common pieces of feedback was simple:

"I wish I could continue this story."

Previously, every story was a standalone experience. If you enjoyed a particular character, setting, or scenario, that was the end of it.

Now, stories can be continued for up to three parts. This creates:

  • Longer narrative arcs
  • More immersion
  • More repeated exposure to relevant vocabulary
  • Additional reading motivation

Many language learners find that reading comprehension improves when they're invested in the content they're reading. Continuing a story gives context and familiarity, making it easier to understand new words and phrases as they appear.

Rather than constantly starting over, you can now spend more time inside the stories you actually enjoy.

Track the words you're learning

Another major addition is vocabulary progress tracking.

Reading is one of the most effective ways to learn a language, but it's often difficult to measure progress. You know you're improving, but it's hard to see exactly how.

Volitude now tracks the words you interact with while reading.

As you read stories, the app begins building a picture of your vocabulary exposure over time.

This helps answer questions like:

  • Which words have I already seen?
  • Which words am I learning repeatedly?
  • How much vocabulary have I encountered through reading?

The goal isn't to turn reading into a flashcard app. Instead, it's to make your progress visible while keeping stories at the centre of the learning experience.

For learners focused on building vocabulary through stories, this provides a much clearer sense of long-term improvement.

Build a daily reading habit with streaks

Consistency matters far more than intensity when learning a language. Reading for ten minutes every day is usually more effective than reading for two hours once a week.

That's why Volitude now includes streaks.

Your streak grows when you return each day and complete a story. It's a simple feature, but it helps reinforce the habit that drives long-term language improvement.

Many successful language learners rely on routines rather than motivation. Streaks provide a small reminder to keep showing up, even on busy days.

Don't worry, there's no threatening green owl around here. We just want to help you build a sustainable daily language learning habit.

How these features work together

Each of these updates solves a different problem:

Story continuation --> Increases immersion and engagement

Vocabulary tracking --> Makes learning progress visible

Streaks --> Encourage consistency

Together, they transform Volitude from a collection of AI-generated stories into a more structured language learning platform.

The vision hasn't changed: help people improve a language by reading content they're genuinely interested in.

The difference is that Volitude can now guide that journey more effectively.

What's next?

Volitude is still early, and there's plenty more to build.

Future updates will continue focusing on three core areas:

  1. Smarter personalisation
  2. Increased vocabulary retention
  3. An enhanced reading experience

If you've been using Volitude since the beginning, thank you for helping shape the app through your feedback.

And if you're new here, welcome. We hope Volitude helps make language learning feel a little less like studying and a little more like reading something you actually want to read. Why not start reading today?
